PEPPER MUTTON/LIVER MASALA



                   
Ingredients:
Mutton or Liver- 250 gms
Garlic - 5-6 pods (cut into thin slices)
Onion - 1 big(thinly sliced)
Red chillies- 2
Cloves- 3
Cinnamon- 1 inch
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Pepper jeera powder -1-2 tsp
(for this powder,dry roast pepper and jeera (1:1 ratio)in a kadai and grind them to a fine powder)
Salt-to taste
Oil-2-3 tbsp
Coriander leaves -for garnishing

Method:
1.Wash the mutton and keep it aside.
2.In a pressure cooker,pour oil and add cloves,cinnamon, and let it splutter.
3.Then add red chillies and garlic and saute for sometime.                                                      

   

4.Now add onion and fry them for 2-3 minutes.                                                                      
                

5.Add the mutton to it and mix it well.
6.Add turmeric powder,little salt and saute well.                                                                         7.Add half a cup of water to it and pressure cook until the mutton is cooked well.


   . 

8.After the pressure is released from it.Open the cooker.
9.Keep the cooker in high flame as all the excess water in it has to get reduced.
10.When the water is half reduced,add pepper jeera powder and check for salt.
11.Now let it cook until it reaches a thick gravy consistency.

    

12.Finally add coriander leaves and serve hot with chapati,hot rice,rasam rice,sambar rice.

Note:
1.If you are using liver,cook for less time than mutton.
2.Add normal pepper powder for extra spiciness if needed.
