GHEE BISCUITS


GHEE BISCUIT

                   
Ingredients:
Maida/All purpose flour-1 cup
Ghee-1/3-1/2 cup
Powdered sugar-1/4 cup
Cardamom powder-2-3 pinches
Baking soda-1 pinch
Baking powder-2 pinches
Salt-1 pinch

Method:
1.Sieve Maida/All purpose flour,powdered sugar,baking powder,baking soda and keep it aside.
                     
2.In the flour mixture add the melted ghee ,salt and cardamom powder and mix well to form a dough.
  
3.Take a small portion of it and tap it gently on a flat surface with 1/2 inch thickness and smooth the edges.


4.Place the cookie cutter and make desired shapes.

               
5.Place them on a baking tray leaving some space between each cookie.
                   
6.Preheat the oven @ 250°
7.Bake the cookies for 20 mins or more based on the size of the cookie.   
 

8.Check in-between.Slightly move the cookies and check whether they are moving from its place.
9.If the cookies move,then it is the right consistency that the cookies are done.                     

Note:
1.Check for the consistency of the batter,don't make it too hard or too soft.
2.In the beginning batter may look little dry,but later when u start to tap on a surface,the ghee starts to release.

(Prepared dough should be able to hold  a shape when u hold and crumble back when u break it)
3.Do not tap the mixture very thin,its very hard to place in trays.
4.Do not over-cook,as it will lead to a hard cookie.
5.Add minimum sugar.Adding too much sugar will spoil the shape of the cookie and will become crunchy instead of a soft cookie.
6.You can change the flavours of the cookie by adding vanilla essence or any other essence you prefer.
