Maida/All purpose flour - 200 gms
Baking soda-2 pinches
Vanilla essence -2-3tsp
1.Preheat the oven @180degree Celsius/350 degree Fahrenheit.
2.Seive maida,baking powder and baking soda for 2 times and keep it aside.
3.In a bowl,add butter and whisk it till soft and creamy.
4.Add powdered sugar ,milk to the butter and mix well.
5.In a separate clean dry bowl,add the eggs add the essence and beat with a electric beater till it rises and it is foamy.
6.Add this egg to the butter and sugar mixture and just fold the batter from the bottom.
7.Never mix it too much,as the air bubbles will escape from the egg and u will not get a soft cake.
8.Now,add the flour little by little and just fold the batter from the bottom.
9.Add the complete flour and fold it till the butter and the flour blends well.
10.Grease the baking pan with butter and little flour.
11.Transfer the cake mix to the baking pan and tap the pan twice for the batter to set.
12.Bake the mix in the oven for 30-40 mins till the cake is done.
13.Sponge cake is ready.
1.Make sure all the ingredients are at room temperature.
2.Never forget to remove the white strands in the egg, as they cause the cake to smell eggy.
3.Add the beaten egg at once to the butter mixture or else it will start loosing its texture.
