MUTTON CHOPS
Mutton chops-500 gms
Marinating :
Ginger garlic paste- 2tsp.
Chilli powder-1 tsp.
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Cumin powder-1/2 tsp.
Pepper powder-1 tsp.
Lemon juice-2 tsp.
Yoghurt/curd-1-2 tbsp.
Vinegar-2 tsp.
Kasuri methi crushed-1or 2 pinch
Mutton chops powder 1-2 tsp(optional)
Red chilli flakes-1/4-1/2 tsp
Salt-to taste
Oil -2-3 tbsp.
Garnishing:
Onion -rings for garnish
Coconut-sliced for garnish (optional)
Method:
1.Wash the mutton chops,and drain the water as much as possible.
2.In a bowl add all the items under marinating and mix well.
3.Add the mutton chops to it and blend.
4.Add half the oil and mix.
5.Cover the bowl with a cling wrap and leave it overnight in the refrigerator.
6.Pre-heat the oven @250°-300°F
7.In a baking tray,cover with a foil,and spray some oil on it.
8.Add the marinated mutton chops one by one.
9.Bake in the oven for 30-40 mins.
10.Take out and turn the other side and spray some oil all over.
11.Bake for another 40 mins. or until the chops is cooked completely.
( Rise the temperature to 350°F)
12.Add the onion rings and sliced coconut and bake for another 2-3 mins.
13.Sizzling mutton chops is now ready to serve hot.
Note:
•Marinating time is so important for a mutton to get cooked nice and soft.
•Just give a prick with the fork before marinating all the chops.
•Bake with a lower temperature for more time as the inner should get cooked well.
•Higher temperatures cause outside to burn and leave the inner chops undercooked.
•Let the marinating be semi-thick,if its thin then water will start to release while baking,which you may need to discard.
• Do not overcook the chops as it may become chewy and dry.
•Check the spiciness of the marination,if readymade chops masala powder has chilli flakes then do not add it again.
