Ingredients:
Fresh boneless chicken (or)
Left over chicken fry - 1 cup
Onion-1 cup thinly sliced
Chilli powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric powder- 1/4 tsp
Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
Jeera powder- 1/4 tsp
Shredded coconut-2 - 3 tsp
Coriander leaves-for garnishing
Lemon juice- to taste
Salt-to taste
For Tempering:
Oil-3 tsp.
Mustard seeds- 1/2 tsp
Urad dal- 1/2 tsp
Chana dal-1 tsp
Curry leaves-to taste
Saunf-1/2 tsp
Method:
1.If you are using fresh chicken,marinade the chicken with salt,chilli powder and turmeric powder for 1/2 an hour.
2.Then steam cook them and shred them into thin pieces
3.If your are using left over chicken fry, just shred them into thin pieces.
4.In a kadai,add oil and when heated,add all items under tempering and let it splutter.
5.Add onion and saute till its nice golden brown.
6.Then add chicken to it and add chilli powder,turmeric powder,pepper powder and jeera powder.
7.Cook for some time.
8.Then add salt to it and mix well.
9.Add shredded coconut and coriander leaves for garnishing.
10.Serve hot with a squeeze of lemon juice.
Note:
1.When using left over chicken fry, check for the salt and spiciness as it already has some flavours in it.
2.When using fresh chicken ,try to add little more oil and ginger garlic paste for frying well.
