KASHAYAM
Ingredients:
Betel leaves-2-3
Tulsi leaves-15-20
Thoothuvalai leaves-6-7
Karpooravalli leaves-4-5
Pepper corns-4-5(crushed)
Jaggery or palm candy-to taste
Turmeric powder-1/2tsp
Ginger-1/2 inch(crushed)
Method:
1.Wash all the leaves nicely.
2.Chop them finely.
3.Add the water in a cooking vessel and add the leaves,ginger into it and let it boil for a while.
4.Let the water reduce to half in quantity.
5.Now,add the crushed pepper corns,turmeric powder and jaggery/palm candy.
6.Just boil for a minute.
7.Filter the liquid and have it warm.
8.Do this for 3 to 5 days based on the severity of cold or cough.
9.This can be taken as a refreshing drink during cold and rainy days.
